M18 SEZ Communications Group

Purpose
There are 3 Strategic Economic Zones (SEZ) within South Yorkshire that have been identified by Objective One as key areas for targeted economic development activity. These areas are the M1 Corridor, M18 Corridor and the Dearne Valley
The purpose of this group is to provide a regular opportunity for all key organisations who contribute to new economic development opportunities in the M18 SEZ area, or who will be directly affected by those developments to meet to discuss common issues. The aim of the forum is to provide an arena for discussion not decision making - however, the forum will seek to influence decisions by agencies where possible. THe group will also monitor progress in relation to key issues including: -
- Local Training/Employment Opportunities.
- Transport - including motorway and motorway junction capacity.
- Access to Transport.
- The Environment.
