Bessacarr Under 9's V Dunscroft Welfare Blues

Bessacarr Under 9’s     1          Dunscroft Welfare Blues          4

Played on a frosty Sunday morning, the Blues warmed up this occasion with a dominant display against a Bessacarr outfit, which on the day had no answer to the Blues passing and pace. The match started off with the Blues putting in wave after wave of attacks and peppering the Bessacarr goal without working the goalkeeper. Finally, Lewis McCarthy put away a great goal after a good move by the Blues. Dunscroft continued to attack and despite forcing two corners, Bessacarr failed to make Welfare keeper David make a save. Jake and Karl snuffed out any danger as Ethan and Mitchell controlled the midfield allowing Blues captain Callum the freedom to show off his fantastic pace and variety of skills. With the match finishing 1-0 at half time, the Blues looked on course for a good win. However, against the run of play, Bessacarr broke and a mix up in defence saw the Bessacarr striker presented with an easy chance which he slid under the keeper to make it 1-1. This spurred the Blues into action and Callum Barber made it 2-1 with a good shot. Brad, Nathan and Patrick came on as substitutes and continued the Blues momentum and it was no surprise when Ethan Hedley hammered in a shot to make it 3-1 to the rampant Blues. Bessacarr found themselves outfought and outplayed and were defending desperately when Nathan Hall curled a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner for a spectacular goal. Bessacarr were please to hear the final whistle and we no doubt happy that the score had been kept down. Lewis McCarthy was named man of the match for a great all round display.
