Allotments

This is a new group that was formed this Summer. Unfortunatley the group did not take off, however a meeting to establish a new group and membership took place on 8th November 2005. The meeting addressed some of the issues that allotment holders had which included security, vandalism and ideas of how to progress as a group in the future.
A draft constitution has been adopted with the Group name being 'Dunscroft Oval Allotments Association'. A representative from both DMBC and Dunscroft Unite were in attendance at the meeting to discuss relevant matters and courses of action for development of the Association. From this meeting it has been decided to arrange another meeting with a view of attracting more interested people. This took place on Tuesday 17th January 2006 at Dunscroft Social Club - 19:00PM. At the meeting the Directors informed their members of their progress including the opening of a group bank account and their new Constitution that has been adopted. At the meeting it was discussed and agreed that funding needed to be accessed in order to provide water onsite. To do this Yorkshire Water would need to access the oval water pipework system and re-run it to the gates of the allotments. From their the group would have to find additional funding to run it through the site. To discuss these matters further another meeting has been organised for Tuesday the 21st March 2006 19:00pm at Ikies. Again anyone wishing to attend may do so as new members are always welcome.
Minutes of previous meetings are available from Paul Elwis at the Dunscroft Unite Portakabin. (01302 844844).
